REACH FOR THE SKIES

Loughcrew is an area of historical importance near Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland. It is home to a group of ancient tombs from the 4th millennium BC, some decorated with rare megalithic art, which sit on top of a range of hills. The hills and tombs are together known as Slieve na Calliagh and are the highest point in Meath. It is one of the four main passage tomb cemeteries in Ireland and is a protected National Monument.

We love coming here for the spectacular 360 degree views. It's a pretty steep hike therefore it's not for the faint hearted ones, but if you're willing to put the effort in - the reward would be well worth it! Watch out for the sheep droppings, there's definitely plenty of those on the way up so rolling down the hill may not be an option :D

Reach for the sky,

it's not as high as it seems.

Just follow your heart

go as far as your dreams.

“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach of us more than we can ever learn from books.”
